Lost City

At the exhibition opening, a visitor asked me which city I had painted. This really surprised me, since we know of so many lost cities. Some have been buried by time, some by the earth or the sea, or all of the above. We might think of Troy, Angkor, Tikal, or Petra, and I could go on. When I started this series, I wasn't thinking of any specific city. In general, I could have painted about any city.
